Hello! My name is Holly Anderson and I'm here to share my
passions around the practice of Yoga and achieving total mind and
body health and wellness through accessible and
My journey began over a decade ago when I was beginning to
experience health issues that would begin to increasingly
impact my daily life. For many years I struggled to find
healthcare professionals who were able or ready to help me find
answers, so I became my own investigator and advocate.
The daily pain and fatigue I experienced led me to try yoga again
after many years of not being involved in any sort of regular practice.
The first Yin class I ever attended brought me to tears as I began to shift physical and mental tension that had been pent up for a very long time. It was a revelation and transformation within 90 minutes that would drastically change my life for the better as I began to make it a regular practice.
Fast forward a few years, and a move to Olympia and I was lucky enough to find my yoga family at True Self where my real yoga journey began!
The practice and my own journey to empowerment and embodiment led me to finally find a network of healthcare providers who diagnosed me with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in late 2017. Now my journey is all about balancing between the need for effort and effortlessness!
In terms of certifications and experience:
I completed my RYT-200 in 2017, and have been teaching a wide variety of styles of yoga since then, including Yin, Vinyasa/Flow, Hot Hatha/Flow Fusions, Restorative and more. In 2019, I became a Wellround Certified Myofascial Release teacher and Trauma-Informed Yoga certified through Yoga Behind Bars.
I also truly enjoy learning through other body modalities, such as Thai Yoga Massage and Myofascial Release (or Self-Massage).
As of November 2019, I have co-hosted two wonderful international retreats with my great friend, Andre Harris. And look forward to doing more.
I truly enjoy conversations around how to impact health and well-being and learning about each person's unique life experience. So, I hope to develop long-lasting relationships with my students, fellow yogis, and health warriors!
